Snow shots added

The current highly unusual Beast from the East weather conditions sweeping Europe have left north Northumberland UK covered in a thick blanket of snow. I’ve managed to get out and about along the Breamish Valley and take some tricky snow shots, sometimes in very inclement conditions.

So…I’ve added some of the more minimalist shots to the landscapes portfolio – entitled Oh, Snow Simple.

Crawley Dene, Breamish Valley by Graham Williamson

Crawley Dene, Breamish Valley, Northumberland UK

Exposure: 1/60 sec at f/11

Exposure Bias: 2/3 EV (to compensate for the excessive reflected light from the snow and to avoid it looking grey)

ISO Speed Rating: ISO 100 (camera mounted on tripod with Image Stabilisation turned off)

Focal Length: 10 mm (16 mm equivalent with x1.6 crop factor)

Love your snow shots. Takes me back to my student days in the late sixties when I wandered near Rothbury with a Rollieflex borrowed from college. Your photos in the dene bring out the delicate complexity of the branches.
    Thanks for sharing.

    1. Hi David,

Thanks for your kind words. North Northumberland is a beautiful place to live and to take photos. Rothbury is such a great spot too. Best wishes!
